Janggodo(Janggo Island) belongs to the Ocean National Park with Kodae Island among the islands in Boryeong City. The name of Janggo has been named due to its Changgo-shaped feature. The majority of the island is flatland but a 28-meter hill. There are rocks and beach in the northern part of the island and it is a grand spectacle. The white sand, the green trees and the various rocks make the visitor's heart beat.
This island is famous for the sea fishing thanks to its well-shaped rocks in the island. At the low tide, the road of the water is made even until the small islands that are in front of the beach, and you can see "the miracle of Moses" two times a day. At this time, you can get the various marine products.
Deongbarunori, which is famous for the folk play, is held in the Janggodo. The origin of Deongbaru word is the combination of "light up" and "come for a person with the light". The young ladies in groups light up, sing songs and hold the contest of digging the oyster from around the 15th of January by the lunar calendar and Buddha's birthday.
You can have a quiet and clam time, thanks to people's generous mind in the island. If you are tired mentally and physically, you can enjoy your time in this island. The gab of the ebb and flow of the tide is wide and the gradient in this beach is steep and the sandy bottom is appeared at low tide. At this time, you can enjoy various kinds of sports. There is a volleyball court next to the tent village.
As you see the picture, there is Myeongjang Island next to the beach and you can see "the miracle of Moses" two times a day at the low tide. At this time, you can get the various marine products such as shellfish. From the early May to Jun, fishing in the land is popular. From the September, this place is famous for boat fishing. The beautiful sceneries of this island attract you to take pictures here. You can enjoy the ocean bathing and fishing during the summer. Go fishing is popular in the spring and the winter and you can get the shellfish at this time.
There are rocks and beach in the northern part of the island and there are the white sand, the green trees and the various rocks. You can visit there to see Yonggul and Yongbawi at the low tide. Janggodo Dulle-gil Trail(1Km)
This is a trail with a beautiful coastal landscape from Daemeori Dock to the pine forest path passing through a seashore road. During the ebb tide, a mysterious sea route appears. What is more, the magnificent view of the sun setting over Jangseol Island is beloved by everyone.
- Daemeori Quay → Myeongjang Beach → Myeongjang Island → Dangneomeo Beach
- Take a bus or taxi at Daecheon Station / Boryeong Bus Terminal and exit at Daecheon Port. (Bus: 40-minute ride, taxi: 20-minute ride)
Board the ferry at Daecheon Port and debark at Janggodo Island (Daecheon Port: +82-41-934-8773, 5963)
